Today I'll be reviewing A'Pieu Hyaluthione Soonsoo Essence Toner. I've recently really fallen in love with A'Pieu products, especially skincare. They're affordable yet very nice quality for the price, and I definitely have more A'Pieu reviews coming up since I just recently ordered some more products from them.

I gotta say this product was kind of an impulse purchase, but I haven't been using toners for a while in my skincare routine so I thought now is the time to try some toners again!

I got the Essence Toner from the four product Hyaluthione Soonsoo line, which has a lotion, ampoule and cream besides this product.
This essence toner and the product line is meant for dry skin to help provide moisture and make the skin look more clear. In this context I think they mean "clear" as in helping dry and dull skin to look more fresh and pure.

They suggest using the 3skin method for this essence toner, which basically means that you layer the product three times on your skin before moving to the next product in your routine. You might have heard of it since it has been a popular skin care trend recently!

You can also use the product for a quick 5 minute moisture boosting mask by soaking up some layered cotton pads in the product and applying them on your face.

Just PSA: I've been translating the more in-depth description of the product from the Korean A'Pieu website to practice my Korean and to get a better idea of the concept of the product. Korean companies don't always include all information in English, and the translations might not always be accurate either. But, my Korean is not that great either, so usually I ask my boyfriend for help if I don't understand something. So please bear with me and feel free to correct me, I'm trying my best to provide as much information as I can~

PRICE

170 ml / 11,000won: ~8,50€

The price above is the price in Korea for reference, but I since I currently don't live in Korea I ordered mine from Jolse like usually, since they have free shipping for orders over $40 and they carry most of my favorite Korean brands. At Jolse I paid $14,43 for this product, which is about 12,50€.

INGREDIENTS

Water, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Alcohol, Niacinamide, Pentylene Glycol, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Hydrolyzed Hibiscus Esculentus Extract, Adenium Obesum Leaf Cell Extract, Agave Tequilana Leaf Extract, Aloe Ferox Leaf Extract. Mourera Fluviatilis Extract, Glycerin, Choleth-24, Saccharide Isomerate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dextrin, Adenosine, Sucrose, Arginine, PCA, Serine, Alanine, 1,2-Hexanediol, Threonine, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Glutathione, Triethanolamine, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Perfume

The product is based on Hyaluthione, a compound of Hyaluronic Acid, three different Hyaluronic Acid derivatives and Gluthatione. The good thing about having various types of Hyaluronic Acid is that the molecule sizes are different, and the smaller the molecule the better it can absorb into the skin and provide better overall moisture. As in the picture above from A'Pieu's website, this compound is there to provide 4 layered moisture to your skin.

They also mention Glutathione, but it's quite far down on the actual ingredients list so I don't know how big of a difference it actually makes. On A'Pieu's website, they say it'll make your skin brighter.
I ran the ingredient name in CosIng, and it gives the function "reducing" which I suppose regards more the formula of the product. CosDNA on the other hand gives the ingredient also description of "hydrophilic antioxidant", so I guess it's also working it's part as bringing the moisture to the skin.

Alcohol is fairly up in the list but generally, you don't need to be too worried about that unless you're sensitive to alcohol, because alcohol is often used as a solvent and a delivering agent for other ingredients in the product and it evaporates from the skin almost immediately.

The texture is really watery, but it's a little thicker than toners usually, so I would say it's something between toner and essence in the consistency which totally makes sense since it's "essence toner". If you're more familiar with Korean "skin" type products, this is the common texture for those.

Again, the product smells really familiar but I can't tell what it is, so I can only describe the scent as fresh and that I personally really like it.

What I've been doing with the product is first wiping my whole face with this essence toner on a cotton pad after double cleansing to get rid of the very last remains of makeup and dirt of my face, and then pat one or two more layers of it on to my face with my hands. It absorbs quickly, so it doesn't take too much time to actually do the 3skin method and it doesn't feel like putting too much product on your face because of that as well. If your skin isn't that dry, it might leave your face feeling sticky though. I noticed that on my oilier skin days.

I've been using this product for couple of weeks now, and the conclusion is:
I absolutely love how this makes my skin feel!

It's like instant moisture and refreshment, and it leaves my skin feeling more "plump" if that makes any sense. I'm really excited to see how this product works fall/winter time, when my skin tends to be even more on the drier side. In summer this worked great for me in a sense that I could only layer this product, then vitamin C serum and sunblock, because my skin felt moisturized enough to skip using moisturizer and just go with sunblock!

I would also love to try using this as a sheet mask because I believe this would be amazing for that purpose too, but I don't have any layered cotton pads I could use so I have to leave it for later.

Overall, I would absolutely recommend this essence toner for those with dry or dehydrated skin! My experience so far has been great using this product, and I'll report back how this works for me during the colder seasons.

Have any of you tried skincare products from A'Pieu before?
